country to travel
to. The people are
very friendly and
are always willing
to help. There is

very proud of.

most frequented time
is from around
September through
April, which is the
winter. The average
temperature during
this time is around
25C during the day
and 20C at night.
However hotel rooms
are very hard to
come by during this
period so one needs
to book early to
ensure your
reservation.

Oman
is a Muslim country
which means that
alcohol cannot be
bought over the
counter in stores
and the restaurants
do not offer alcohol
when eating out.
However alcohol can
be purchased at
various pubs and
bars based in the
hotels as well as
various private
clubs. It is not
permitted to drink
alcohol in public
areas.
TOP
Costumes can be worn
at your hotel as
well as on private
beaches near the
hotel but it is
asked that when you
are in a public
place that you
respect the local
custom and cover up.
TOP
Camping is available
almost anywhere in
Oman. One should not
camp on someone’s
property unless they
offer their land.
However you are able

the beaches along
the coastline as
well as on the
mountains.

Although the
exchange rate of the
Rial is very strong
the average cost of
living in Oman is

other countries in
the world. Everyday
necessities are very
affordable and can
be bought throughout
the country.

Oman’s roads are
generally very good.
There are still some
places that are only
accessible by 4x4

major cities are
connected by tarred
roads.
TOP
There
are many things to
do in both Muscat
and the rest of
Oman. Have a browse
through our site to
find a few gems.
Things like horse
riding and quad
biking can be
organised by OWT. We
also recommend
trying to catch a
bull fight while you
are here. No bulls
are killed in the
fights and they
actually involve 2
bulls pushing one
another until one of
the bulls gives up.
After the fight they
are taken to the
ocean to cool down.
